VENUS is a new showcase series for women, and our mission is to elevate all who identify as women in the music industry.

VENUS, being the planet of love and creative expression in astrology helps us tune into our inner wisdom and trust our instincts. It values kindness over competition, compassion over comparison, and empowerment over ego.

VENUS is co-founded by the record label and publishing company for women World Peach Records along with artist, entrepreneur and activist Tess Posner.

The first VENUS showcase took place March 8th on International Women’s Day at The Lost Church in San Francisco, and will take place quarterly thereafter.

It featured Grammy and Emmy nominated artist Annette Philip, and Tess Posner who is a Finalist in both the USA Songwriting and International Songwriting Competitions, and Trixie Rasputin.

Featuring:

AMY OBENSKI

Sometimes you’re wearing your image. Sometimes you’re baring your soul. Carrying always this message: Make sure the light is your own.” - Amy Obenski

Behind her crystalline voice and poetic imagery, you’ll notice influences from Motown and jazz with glimpses of 1960s folk-rock greats such as Carole King or Joni Mitchell. Her biggest breakthrough so far was when her song, Carousel, was featured on the hit TV show, Grey's Anatomy.

Obenski spent her childhood in San Diego studying classical and jazz while also hiding in her room writing poetry no one would hear. Once she began songwriting, all that time writing poems in solitude morphed into a talent for lyrics. She’s toured the U.S. and Europe, plus recorded and toured with her own French band (The Carbone Band), along with an Artist in Residence in Saint Herblain, France. You can currently find Amy Obenski in San Francisco, where she's lived since 2012.

Tess Posner

Cinematic pop artist Tess Posner showcases a deep and evocative exploration of the human experience, blending her unique artistic voice with a commitment to healing and transformation. She weaves together ethereal synths, dynamic orchestral elements together with her lush vocal harmonies that lay over a bed of deep-sounding drums and bass. Her past projects have reached over 4 million streams and surpassed 1 million views on TikTok, and the song “Volcano” was a finalist in both the USA Songwriting and Songwriters Universe competitions. Posner's approach to music is multifaceted, incorporating her training in various healing modalities and a background in activism into her songwriting. This blend of spiritual practice, nature wisdom and personal insight makes her music not only an artistic expression but also a medium for psychological and emotional alchemy.

Testimonials

"When I walked down the stairs at the Lost Church I didn't know I actually would end up on another planet. I was aware that VENUS was presenting the show. I didn't realize it was a portal to another world. Though the landscape was familiar, the powerful atmosphere of VENUS crackled with feminine energy. The music, the stories, the lives lived by the women performing were transmissions from another land, to be cataloged and preserved like moon rocks. Anyone lucky enough to experience VENUS will be moved.

In more Earthly terms, it was a great show!"

Michael - Tell Me Tell Me

"I can easily say that VENUS was one of the most well organized and thoughtfully planned shows I have had the pleasure of promoting. The women behind the scenes, Jayne Trimble and Tess Posner, are a powerful team of visionionaries that brought to life something extraordinary (and much-needed) for the music community. I was able to partner with them on this show directly as a promoter, but was also invited to take the stage as a solo musician. I felt that my voice was important and given time to shine, and I am beyond thankful for the work they are doing. "Empowering women in music" is exactly what Jayne and Tess have done with this for-women, by-women model. For the women in attendance, there was a very palpable sense of accomplishment and pride, and the men in the audience were rapt and expressed true admiration for their female counterparts after the show. In a space filled with respect, support, and love, you get the sense that anything is possible, and I believe that the VENUS audience left the show inspired and hopeful. By lifting the female voice, VENUS lifts every voice, and makes the journey toward empowerment a path that we are all walking as one."
